Papers is a bibliographic management software system specifically developed for the Mac but now is available on both Windows and iOS as well as Macs OS X. It is primarily used to organize references for citing when writing. It is also used to maintain a library of PDF documents and  provide a uniform interface for document repository searches, metadata editing, full screen reading and a variety of ways to import and export documents.
