I need an article from offsite storage

Some older journals may be stored at Columbia's offsite shelving facility, known as ReCAP (short for Research Collections and Preservation Consortium), operated jointly with Harvard, Princeton, and New York Public Library. Articles from older journals may not be available electronically, but can be scanned if the journal is available offsite. You can request scans through the Columbia University Libraries online catalog, CLIO, by following these steps:

  1. Search for the journal by title or ISSN in CLIO.
  2. Click on the item record that indicates the location as "Offsite."

    • If the volume and issue you need is included, then click on the "Scan" link on the right-hand side.

  6. Click "Submit Offsite Scan Request" to submit request.

Scan will be delivered by email from recap@library.columbia.edu, with the subject "Scan Request from Columbia University Library, via ReCAP."
