When should I use Borrow Direct?

Borrow Direct is a service offered without cost to current Columbia University faculty, students, and full-time staff that allows quick access to over 80 million printed volumes located in 12 other research libraries: Brown, Chicago, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, MIT, Penn, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale. Quicker than regular interlibrary loan, items requested thorough Borrow Direct typically arrive in 3-5 business days and are available for 16-week loan periods.
